Emails

Emails

A poem about the times when it all feels too much

royal mail is hiring for a post person

emails and more emails

checking emails became “exciting” after a while

far too much dopamine in other algorithms

the mundane becomes a powerhouse of boring

indeed

hellofresh

invoices

terms and agreement

shared google drive updates

for a while when everything got so relentless

chaotic

that dull became a comfort

remembering to lean into the laziness

lay down with the boredom

holding on tight with sore wrists leads to much longer paralysis

sensibility in you microdosing some tenderness into the routine

or lack thereof

sometimes it’s fine to live in the third person for a few months

leaving it be

sunday scaries

wonderous thoughts that all seem far too brash on a thin skull

until a day later you remember that this thought has popped up

a lot

and you’ve rationalised it quite a few times

When is life going to start?

This can’t be it there’s something more

and there always is more and its usually exactly what you need and, in most cases, want

it’s all in the mindset

so, for now

rest easy
